A police officer shot a Hong Kong protester Monday morning, setting off a revolution of violent confrontations into the territory where pro-democracy demonstrations have raged for nearly half a year.
Protesters on Monday had planned for the strike that is city-wide designed to bring the town to a standstill — in reaction to the death of a protester, whom fell from a parking garage the other day and died.
